16 FIELD SQUADRON R.E.OSNABRUCK 16 Field Squadron was part of 23 Engineer Regiment based at Roberts Barracks Osnabruck.Thanks to Steve Watson and Derek Stevenson for the photos that make up this page.Both were members of the Squadron between 1970-1974. If I recall correctly WO2 ALF Lister was Squadron Sgt Major up until 1972. I understand Alf is now retired and living in Australia. |

| STEVE WATSON AND "DINGER" BELL 16 Squadron were stationed at Paulette Avenue in the Short Strand Area of Belfast 1972.The Area was shared with 12 Field Squadron based at the Short Strand Bus Station.The Regimental Tac Hq Was located at Mountpottinger RUC Station.During this Tour S/Sgt Mick Banks was shot dead by the IRA. Paddy Stuart remained in Belfast as part of the the Four Square culvert laundry operation.Paddy was shot and killed in October 1974 by the IRA on the Twinbrook eastate. |
